Special needs bus crashes in Indio

Five total vehicles involved in crash

INDIO, Calif.- - A special needs school bus was involved in a five-vehicle collision near the intersection of Jefferson and Country Club Tuesday afternoon in Indio.

Cal Fire told KESQ & CBS Local 2 that there were no children were inside the bus at the time of the crash. One person was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.

A witness told KESQ & CBS Local 2 crew on scene that the injured person was awake and talking when they were being transported.

Southbound Jefferson is shut down, no word on when it will be back open.
