TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. - San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies arrest man after a deadly stabbing Monday in Twentynine Palms.
The stabbing happened before noon at a residence in the 74000 block of Joe Davis Drive. Deputies arrived on scene and found the victim suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital, where they died shortly before 3 pm.
Deputies found the suspect, William Olivo, armed with a knife outside the apartment. According to a news release by the Sheriff's Department, deputies ordered Olivo to drop the knife, he complied by resisted when deputies attempted to handcuff him. Olivo was then tased.
Olivo was taken into custody and transported to the hospital to be treated for a laceration deputies believe he received during an altercation with the victim. Olivo was transported and booked into the Morongo Jail after being released to the hospital. He was later booked into the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held without bail.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail have assumed the investigation, which is still ongoing.
