Ron Shipley hired as Indio high school athletic director
It didn't take long for Ron Shipley to find a new home.
It just happens to be across town at the rival high school, Indio.
The former Shadow Hills football stepped down this past season, ending a run that started in 2009 when he started the program. The Knights hired Alex Esquibel to become the 2nd head football coach in Knights' program history.
In somewhat of a surprising move, Shipley now takes over the Indio athletic department. He replaces Ovidio Machado who recently retired after 30 years at the high school.
The school is set to have a welcoming for Shipley on Wednesday morning at 8 with other coaches there to meet the new man in charge of Rajah athletics.
