Taban Sharifi is a Meteorologist and Reporter with KESQ News Channel 3, The Desert’s News & Weather Leader.
Taban has her B.S. in Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Environmental Sciences along with a minor in Environmental Systems and Society from the University of California, Los Angeles. While in school, Taban gained weather experience interning with KNBC in Los Angeles.
Prior to moving to the Coachella Valley, Taban was working in the Concho Valley! She was the Morning and Midday Meteorologist with KLST in San Angelo, TX. Working in West Texas gave her knowledge and experience forecasting tornadoes, flash flooding, icy roads, damaging winds, along with extreme heat.
Taban is working towards her Certified Broadcast Meteorology seal with the American Meteorological Society (AMS).
Growing up in Southern California, Taban is excited to be back home and forecasting for the desert region. She also looks forward to getting involved with the Coachella Valley community.
Aside from her professional interests, Taban is a huge cat person! She also loves trying new foods, snowboarding, hiking, hitting the beaches, and is just ecstatic to be near an In-N-Out Burger again.
