Kelley Moody became a part of the CBS Local 2 & KESQ family in March of 2016. She was drawn to the industry out of a love for connecting with people and sharing their stories. She takes great pride in waking up with viewers to bring them the news and weather of the day.
Originally from Southern California, Kelley was formerly a freelance associate producer with Dateline NBC News and reported for HCTV22 & GGTV3 in Hawthorne and Garden Grove, CA. She is excited to celebrate her third Emmy nomination since arriving in the desert!
Kelley has her BFA in Television and Broadcast Journalism, as well as a double minor in Peace Studies and Sociology from Chapman University. Go Panthers! She recently finished up her Broadcast Meteorology Certification through Mississippi State University giving her the official title of meteorologist.
Kelley comes from a long line of native Californians and enjoys volunteering for local organizations. She loves working with Make-A-Wish Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert, Digital Arts Technology Academy at Cathedral City High School, OneFuture Coachella Valley, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and Loving All Animals. She is a proud vegetarian and a huge theater fan. She was recognized with a Desert Star Award for her 2017 performance in the original play ‘Expressions.' You can catch Kelley on stage in productions from Desert Ensemble Theatre Company and Dezart Performs. In her free time, she loves making trips up the California coastline, spending time with family, and parenting her adopted Siamese & Sphynx cats.
