February’s Coachella Valley Spotlight Recipient is Desert Ability Center.

Desert Ability Center is a nonprofit that aims to help people living in the Coachella Valley with disabilities by providing them access to resources giving them independence, helps encourage empowerment and supports their inclusion.

Many people benefit from Desert Ability Center from youth to seniors and veterans as well, who are living with disabilities.

Some of the events Desert Ability Center offers include sports like wheelchair tennis, wheelchair basketball and paracycling.

The $25,000 grant from the H.N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation will go towards a van to help transport sports wheelchairs and other adaptive sports equipment to schools throughout the Coachella Valley.
