The 29 Palms senior is a gifted athlete with the ability to lead his teammates to victory on the football field and basketball court.

Whether number six is slinging the football for Wildcat's touchdowns, or knocking down game winning baskets.
"Outstanding athlete, he led our basketball team to a CIF Championship." Head Coach Ernest Martinez said.
He is the captain and he is the back bone. A hero to the younger Wildcats wanting to be D'shaun Barrett.
"He wanted my autograph but I didn't have a pen or anything. Some kids over here look up to me so I make sure I represent myself good. Make sure they become better than me when they grow up." Student Athlete of the Week D'shaun Barrett said.
He puts in the extra time when no one is watching.
"I wake up in the morning at 6:30 before school everyday and shoot in the morning. Get my shots off, my game is Friday and the next day I go to the gym and play basketball with my teammates." Barrett said.
As the man in charge at point guard he led his team to a 2016 CIF Basketball Championship, and the man in charge at quarterback all the way to the CIF semi finals.
"Mentality is to set the tone, the point guard and quarterback are the leaders. Have to set the tone for the guys, get them going." Barrett said.
All the hard work has paid off for Barrett. Next year starting a college basketball career at Cal State LA.
"Close to home, close to my family so they can watch me play."
Although his time as the high school big man on campus is coming to an end. His legacy will carry on.
"Going to remember all the games all the practices, walking around campus. Going to remember all of it cause I am really going to miss it." Barrett finished.
Arguably the best player to ever wear a Wildcat uniform.
