Orlando Magic power forward Ryan Anderson reportedly will be announced Friday as the recipient of the NBA's Most Improved Player Award.

The announcement will be made at a Friday press conference, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Anderson, a fourth-year player, improved his scoring average this season from 10.6 points a game to 16.1 points and his rebounding average from 5.6 to 7.7 a game.

The Sacramento native played one season at Cal, leading the Pac-10 in scoring with 21.6 points a game. He was drafted in 2008 with the 21st overall pick by the New Jersey Nets.

Anderson was traded to the Magic in 2009 as part of a deal that also brought Vince Carter to Orlando.
