Report: Cuban pitcher killed in traffic accident
Gonzalez pitched in World Baseball Classic
Yadier Pedroso Gonzalez, who pitched for Cuba in the World Baseball Classic in Tokyo last week, was killed in a traffic accident in Cuba over the weekend, according to the Caribbean Journal.
Pedrosa's death was confirmed by Joan Molina, director of sports for the territory of Artemisa, according to the report.
Pedroso, 26, pitched 1.2 innings for Cuba in the WBC this year, and he pitched five innings in 2006.
