La Salle 80, Boise State 71: Ramon Galloway scored 14 of his 21 points during a torrid-shooting second half as the Explorers outlasted the Broncos in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Dayton, Ohio.Tyrone Garland poured in 22 points off the bench and Sam Mills added 15 points - all on 3-pointers - for La Salle (22-9), which plays fourth-seeded Kansas State in Friday's second round of the West Regional at Kansas City, Mo. The Explorers shot a season-high 63.3 percent, including 72.7 percent in the final 20 minutes, to win their first NCAA tournament game since 1990.Anthony Drmic drilled five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 28 points to lead Boise State (21-11), which fell to 0-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament in its first appearance since 2008.After Ryan Watkins scored the first six points for the Broncos, La Salle recovered from its 1-for-5 start with consecutive 3-pointers by Mills to take a lead it would not relinquish at 8-6. D.J. Peterson, Mills and Galloway each hit 3-pointers during a 17-6 spurt that left the Explorers with a 25-12 cushion at the 9:10 mark of the first half.
Although Boise State managed to crawl with 35-30 early in the second half, the Broncos could get no closer despite one turnover after intermission. La Salle shot 11-for-21 beyond the arc, improving to 8-0 in games in which it made at least 10 3-pointers.
