Arizona Wildcats gain QB, lose LB
Wagner quits football, Isham transfers from Louisiana Tech
The University of Arizona football team reportedly has lost a key player and gained another Saturday.
Linebacker Brian Wagner decided to quit football while former Louisiana Tech quarterback Nick Isham will transfer to the Pac-12 school, according to WildcatAuthority.com.
Wagner, who was projected to be a starter entering this season, told the Tucson Citizen that he didn't have a love for the game anymore.
"I told Coach (Rich Rodriguez) that, and that was it. It was something I was thinking about for a long time," he said. "That's kind of where I'm at right now."
Isham will have to sit out the 2012. He will be a redshirt sophomore when he is eligible in 2013.
The Westlake Village, Calif., native started seven of the nine games he played as a freshman last season before was bumped to the bench. He threw for 1,457 yards and eight touchdowns.
