Woman robbed at gunpoint in Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, Calif. - A woman was robbed at gunpoint today at the Sam's Club gas station in Palm Desert.

According to the woman's son, his mother was robbed of cash she has just withdrew from the Wells Fargo ATM moments before. She was pumping gas at the Sam's Club gas station when a man approached her at the pumps with a gun and demanded cash that she just withdrew from the bank, leading the son to believe they were watching her make the withdrawal.

Authorities say that after the suspect received the money he got into an awaiting blue sports car. The car left the area and was last seen moving southbound through the Sam's Club parking lot.

The suspect who displayed the handgun was described as a Hispanic man, 20-30 years in age, 5'9' tall, 170 pounds, wearing a red tee-shirt, black shorts and sandals.

No victims were injured during the robbery. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect or vehicle.
