Woman busted by border patrol with over 2 lbs. meth

Drugs seized on Greyhound bus in El Centro

EL CENTRO, Calif. - Border patrol agents arrested a woman who was traveling on a Greyhound bus after they found over two pounds of methamphetamine in her luggage on Monday.

The 25-year-old woman, who is an American citizen, was caught with the drugs around 7:15 a.m. in El Centro, California.

During a transportation check, border patrol agents began questioning the woman because she was acting suspicious. She became nervous and couldn't answer their questions and agreed to let them check her luggage, according to authorities.

Agents discovered six plastic-wrapped objects that later tested positive for methamphetamine. They said the meth had an estimated street value of more than $67K.

The woman was arrested and taken to the El Centro Police Department. The drugs were seized by the DEA for further investigation.

Agents said the public plays an important role in protecting our border against crime and anyone who sees suspicious activity should report it to the Border Community Threat Hotline at 1-800-901-2003.
