THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. -

Time Warner Cable reports service is back on as of Sunday evening. Customers in Indio, Coachella, La Quinta and Palm Springs were affect by the outage that began on Saturday. 

The company says it is aware of the issue and are working to resolve it. 

Service was being restored throughout the day. No word on how long it will take.

Time Warner Cable sent us this statement, "Our engineers continue to restore service as quickly as possible. The outage was caused by vandalism to our network last night. We apologize to our customers who have been affected."

Indio Police say $2,000 worth of fiber optics were stolen off a telephone pole on Highway 111 between Madison and Monroe sometime between 8 and 9 p.m. Saturday night.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-stop.

Several viewers tell us they lost their cable, internet and phone services at about  9 p.m. Saturday.

Indio Police says its 911 systems are still working and dispatch centers are not affected by the outage.

Several customers in La Quinta told us their service was still out as of 3:30pm.
