Thousands of flags honor fallen...

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - More than 5,000 U.S. flags are standing at Patriot Park in Cathedral City for the 11th annual Healing Field event.

The flags are displayed all week long with Veterans Day coming up this week. Each flag is tagged with a fallen hero's name, including his or her rank, branch of service, age and hometown.

"The healing field gives people the opportunity to come out and remember the fallen, the young men and woman, and also it's illuminated 24 hours, we have lights on the field at nighttime. So they can come out and walk among the flags and have a quite time and reflect," said Betsy Hayes, the Healing Field chair.

Healing Fields are nationally recognized across the United States as a tribute to the men and women who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
