PALM SPRINGS, Calif. -

President Obama is back in Palm Springs for Father's Day weekend after making a trip to Orange County for a fundraiser and a UC Irvine commencement speech on Saturday.

Air Force One returned to Palm Springs International Airport just after 2 p.m.

A reliable source tells News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 that the President and First Lady will be joined by their daughter Malia.

The source tells us Malia was driven into town but Sasha will not be joining the rest of the family.

The President's plans in the valley are shrouded with mystery, but his first stop was Thunderbird Heights in Rancho Mirage on Friday night where sources told us he and Michelle may be staying at the estate of interior designer Micheal Smith, a close friend of the Obamas.

The families plans for Saturday night and Father's Day are under wraps.
