The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire rose one-tenth of a cent Thursday to $4.28, one day after being unchanged.

   The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 2.3 cents more than a week ago, 26 cents higher than one month ago and 40.5 cents greater than what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

   After rising three consecutive days to its highest amount since March 1, 2013, there has not been more than a change of one-tenth of a cent in the average price for four consecutive days. It was was unchanged Monday, rose one-tenth of a cent on Tuesday and was unchanged Wednesday.
