6:30 p.m. Update:  All power has been restored to the Windy Point area of Palm Springs, and only 20 customers are without power in the area near Vista Chino and Gene Autry.  At this time there are no road closures.

4:30 Update:  SCE reports on their outage page that the outage in Windy Point Area north of Palm Springs may be out until sometime Wednesday afternoon.  The site says that 340 customers are without power, and it started sometime before noon.

3:00 Update: SCE says only 20 customers now without power in the Vista Chino and Gene Autry area, crews are on scene working on the trouble. 

2:15 p.m Update:  SCE crews continue to work 2 power outages in Palm Springs.  Palm Springs Fire says they are on scene of a power line down behind a home on Avenida Fey Norte, which is just West of Gene Autry Trail and South of Vista Chino.  SCE outage pages says 597 customers are affected, and it is storm related, estimated time of restoration is 3:00.    There is another outage in the Windy Point area of Palm Springs leaving 340 customers without power. 

1:20 p.m. Update: SCE reports that power has been restored to all but one customer in the area.

Southern California Edison reports that nearly 2,000 people are without power due to fire on power pole at Dillon Road and Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs.

The fire was reported on the pole just after 11:20 a.m. Tuesday.  Cal Fire crews along with the California Highway Patrol had to shut down the intersection to put out the blaze. 

The fire has been put out, and SCE crews are on scene trying to repair the pole and restore power to the customers in the area.
