INDIO, Calif. -

A shooting victim was being treated at a local hospital Wednesday night after a report of gunfire in Indio.

Indio Police say the shooting happened after 9:30 p.m., outside a home near Kenner and Smurr Street, west of Jackson Street and south of the freeway.

Police say a man was taken to the hospital before they arrived on scene. 

The man had suffered a gunshot wound to the face. 

There was no word Wednesday night on a suspect description.

This incident follows a different shooting in Indio where a man was shot in the head on Tuesday morning. Police haven't said anything that would indicate the shootings are related.

Both incidents are being investigated and no suspects have been identified.
