LOS ANGELES, Calif.- - The investigations bureau of Palm Springs was honored by the Anti-Defamation League of Los Angeles today for their efforts the case of George Zander. On Nov. 1, 2015, George Zander and his husband, Chris Zander, were attacked outside of Hunter's Night Club in Palm Springs. 6 weeks after the crime, George Zander passed away.
"Our department -- and specifically the members of our investigative team here today -- are honored and proud to have been selected for this award.," said Captain Hank Peeters of the PSPD. "We take pride in the fact that we are a trusted partner, along with the LGBTQ community, in making Palm Springs a safe place to live and visit."
Christopher James Carr and Keith Edward Terranova were later arrested for the hate crime and pled guilty to felony charges in January of 2017.
