FLAGSTAFF, ARIZ. - Police in Arizona are searching for a teacher who was last seen on Friday.
44-year-old Cathryn Gorospe, a kindergarten teacher at Arrowhead Elementary in Glendale, Arizona left Friday saying she'd be back, according to her roommate, Jacqueline Gutierrez.
Gutierrez called the police Sunday afternoon after not being able to reach Gorospe.
Gorospe is said to have last been seen bailing her friend, 27-year-old Charlie Malzahn, out of jail in Flagstaff on Friday, according to the Associated Press.
According ABC 15 Arizona, Malzahn was in jail since Aug. 10 on charges of theft of a means of transportation, being prohibited possessor of a gun and possessing a gun during the commission of a felony.
Malzahn allegedly tried to buy items at a mall with Gorospe's credit and debit cards last Saturday afternoon and he may have been driving her SUV, Tuscon police revealed Tuesday afternoon.
After being taken into custody, Phoenix police say Malzahn assaulted two officers and caused a significant cut to one of them while trying to escape custody.
Gorospe's SUV was spotted early Monday in Phoenix and Malzahn was arrested after he crashed the SUV following a police pursuit.
Gorospe's brother, Palm Springs Fire Captain Cory Gorospe, are working with Flagstaff police to locate his sister.
Corey, his wife, and his dad left for Arizona as soon as they heard the news.
"I'm hoping we get a good timeline of where she was what she was doing hopefully make some contacts up there," Corey said.
