Palm Desert DUI checkpoint leads to 13 arrests
Four motorists were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during an overnight driver's license/sobriety checkpoint in Palm Desert, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said today.
One of those drivers had an active warrant for a previous driving under the influence conviction, according to a department statement.
Nine motorists were arrested for driving while unlicensed or on suspended license and five vehicles were towed during the checkpoint on Highway 111, west of Plaza Way that began at 7 p.m. Saturday and ended today at 3 a.m., according to the statement.
