RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. -

Rancho Mirage police are looking for a man dressed in black who is suspected of holding up a local convenience store a gunpoint, according to Rancho Mirage police Sgt. Patrick Carroll.

The armed robbery occurred at about 6:22 p.m. on Monday at the Jensen's Finest Foods on Frank Sinatra Drive near Highway 111.

"A subject entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk,'' Carroll said.

The clerk complied and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money, the sergeant said. The clerk was unharmed, Carroll said.

The suspect was described as a white man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a black long-sleeved shirt and black pants. He is described as wearing black gloves and a black motorcycle helmet with visor.
