1940: Musician and singer-songwriter Dr. John, who scored a top-20 hit in 1973 with the funk-flavored "Right Place Wrong Time," is born Malcolm John Rebennack Jr. in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has recorded more than 20 albums and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
