1995: The Dayton Peace Agreement is initialed at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, ending three and a half years of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The agreement would be formally ratified in Paris, France, on Dec. 14, 1995. Here, Yugoslavian President Slobodan Milosevic, Bosnia and Herzegovina President Alija Izetbegovic and Croatian President Franjo Tudjman initial the accord.
