2009: Basketball coach Chuck Daly, who coached the Detroit Pistons to back-to-back NBA titles in 1989 and 1990 and coached the Dream Team to the men's basketball gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics, dies of pancreatic cancer at the age of 78 in Jupiter, Florida. Daly also coached for the Cleveland Cavaliers, New Jersey Nets and Orlando Magic in his 14-year NBA career, compiling a 564–379 career record.
