1972: Shaquille O'Neal, who won four NBA titles, three NBA Finals MVP honors, one NBA MVP award and the 1993 NBA Rookie of the Year Award in his 19-year career, is born in Newark, N.J. O'Neal played mostly for the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat, but also spent a year each with Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.
