1976: Actress Reese Witherspoon, best known for movies such as "Election," "Legally Blonde," "Sweet Home Alabama," "Walk the Line" and "Water for Elephants," is born Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon in New Orleans, Louisiana. Witherspoon won an Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award for portraying country music legend June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line."
