1998: Cowboy actor and singer Roy Rogers, seen here at far left in 1948's "Under California Stars," dies of congestive heart failure at age 86 in Apple Valley, California. He and his wife Dale Evans, his golden palomino, Trigger, and his German Shepherd dog, Bullet, were featured in more than 100 movies and the radio and television show "The Roy Rogers Show."
