1930: Actor Gene Hackman, best known for movies such as "Bonnie and Clyde," "The French Connection," "The Poseidon Adventure," "The Conversation," "Mississippi Burning" and "Unforgiven," is born in San Bernardino, California. Hackman has been nominated for five Academy Awards, winning Oscars for Best Actor for "The French Connection" and Best Supporting Actor for "Unforgiven."
