1986: Actress Donna Reed, best known for the 1958-1966 TV sitcom "The Donna Reed Show," dies of pancreatic cancer at the age of 64 in Beverly Hills, California. Reed was also known for roles in movies such as "The Picture of Dorian Gray," "They Were Expendable," "It's a Wonderful Life" and "From Here to Eternity," the last of which won her the 1953 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
