1968: Rapper and actor LL Cool J, known for songs such as "I Need Love," "I'm That Type of Guy," "Around the Way Girl," "Mama Said Knock You Out" and "Hey Lover," is born James Todd Smith in Bay Shore, New York. He's also appeared in movies such as "Toys," "Halloween H20," "Deep Blue Sea," "Any Given Sunday" and "S.W.A.T." and currently stars on the crime drama TV series "NCIS: Los Angeles."
