1966: Wilt Chamberlain of the Philadelphia 76ers scores 41 points to break the NBA career scoring record with a seven-year total of 20,884 points, four points more than retired Hawk Bob Pettit registered in 11 years. Chamberlain would go on to score a total of 31,419 points in his NBA career. He now ranks fifth all-time among NBA career scoring leaders, behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.
