1965: Basketball Hall of Fame center David Robinson, widely considered to be one of the greatest centers in NBA history, is born in Key West, Florida. Robinson played his entire 14-year career with the San Antonio Spurs, winning NBA championships in 1999 and 2003. The many honors in his career include 1990 NBA Rookie of the Year honors, 10 All-Star selections, 1995 NBA Most Valuable Player, and the 1994 NBA scoring champion. He also won Olympic gold medals in 1992 and 1996 and a bronze medal in 1988 (as seen here).
