1969: Christian Laettner, who starred on the Duke Blue Devils' 1991 and 1992 NCAA National Championship teams, is born in Angola, New York. He was named NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player in 1991 and won many awards in 1992, including the Naismith College Player of the Year, the John R. Wooden Award and the AP College Player of the Year. He was also the only college player selected for the 1992 "Dream Team" that won Olympic gold and played in the NBA for 13 seasons. In 2010, he was inducted as an individual into the College Basketball Hall of Fame and as a member of the "Dream Team" into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
