1942: Singer, actress and filmmaker Barbra Streisand is born Barbara Joan Streisand in Brooklyn, New York. She has won two Academy Awards, eight Grammy Awards, five Emmy Award and a Special Tony Award, making her one of the few entertainers who has won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award. She is the best-selling female artist on the Recording Industry Association of America's Top Selling Album Artists list and has starred in movies such as "Funny Girl," "Hello, Dolly!," "The Way We Were" and "A Star Is Born." She also directed and produced the movies "Yentl," "The Prince of Tides" and "The Mirror Has Two Faces."
