1942: Rock musician Leon Russell, best known for his hit songs "Tight Rope" and "Lady Blue," is born Claude Russell Bridges in Lawton, Oklahoma. Russell, who has also played with artists such as George Harrison, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, Elton John, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Willie Nelson and The Rolling Stones as a session musician, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
