1954: Professional wrestler and actor "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, who often played the villain as a wrestler, is born Roderick George Toombs in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Piper was billed as coming from Glasgow, Scotland, due to his Scottish heritage and was known for his signature kilt and bagpipe entrance music. He was also known for his appearance in numerous B-grade movies, most notably 1988's "They Live." He died at age 61 on July 31, 2015, from a heart attack triggered by a blood clot in his lungs.
