PALM DESERT, Calif. -

An entertainment group affiliated with the Los Angeles Galaxy will perform and play against local coaches at the first Soccerfest in Palm Desert next week, it was announced today.

The Galaxy Futboleros will participate in the free May 7 event hosted by Desert United Soccer Club at the Palm Desert Soccer Complex. The Futboleros, who provide pre-game and halftime entertainment at Galaxy home games, will do juggling demonstrations, run a soccer juggling clinic and play against Desert United coaches, according to Desert United.

"We're so excited about this because some kids might not have an opportunity to go see an L.A. Galaxy game," said Jeff Petoskey, president of Desert United. "This allows kids to see where soccer can take them."

Attendees should bring cleats, shin guards and soccer balls. Food and frozen lemonade will be available.
