RIVERSIDE, Calif. -

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped two-tenths of a cent Thursday to $4.09, one day after rising two-tenths of a cent.

   The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is three-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 10.4 cents higher than one year ago  but 5.4 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

   An increase of 1 cent on Tuesday ended a stretch of six decreases in nine days that dropped the average price to its lowest amount since April 8.
