Indio police have detained two suspects they believe were involved in an early morning shooting on Monday but officers are still searching for two more. Indio High School was locked down as a precaution but that was lifted at 11 a.m.
Police said shots were fired from a Honda Civic at a Toyota Sequoia at Pindo Drive and Palmwood Drive around 8:30 a.m. The cars crashed on Clinton Street when the driver of the Sequoia chased the Honda and ended up rear-ending the car.
Four people in the Civic jumped a wall near Capistrano Street and Clinton street, the two people in the SUV stayed at the scene, neither was injured in the shooting. Two of those suspects are still on the run. Police said they found one handgun while making the arrests.
The SUV was hit multiple times in the shooting before rear-ending the Civic.
Jesus David Jiminez, 28, and Raul Anthony Sandoval, 37, were booked into the Riverside County sheriff's jail on Monday night. They're facing charges of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle.
