If you're a Time Warner customer, you've probably already noticed some channel changes. On Thursday the cable company announced the launch of a new, theme-based digital channel lineup to customers in the Coachella Valley.
According to a TWC release, the new lineup groups channels together intuitively, making it easier for customers to find the programming they want to view and to discover other content.
Officials also said customers with an HD box will automatically receive the HD feed of the corresponding standard-definition channel, providing the best picture available.
Channels on TWC are now grouped into themes like Entertainment, News & Info, Sports, Music, Kids & Teens and Premiums. You can find On Demand content on channels 1000 and above in categories like Primetime On Demand, Entertainment On Demand, Kids On Demand and Music on Demand, officials stated.
TWC moved CBS Local 2 from Channel 602 to Channel 2 and News Channel 3 HD and ABC to Channel 3.
Our Fox station, KDFX, moved from Channel 611 to Channel 11. And, our Spanish language station, KUNA-TV, moved from Channel 615 to Channel 15.
All parental control settings will transition automatically. There is no change in channels 1 to 99 or in which channels are part of a customer's Time Warner Cable TV package.
Time Warner Cable sent you a new channel line-up in the mail. If you didn't get it, or don't know where it is, just hit the GUIDE button on your cable remote control.
By the way, if you programmed your DVR to record your favorite shows, don't worry, Time Warner already changed your recordings to the correct channel.
