Donate blood, get FREE tickets to Humana Challenge

Donate blood and get a pair of free tickets to the Humana Challenge

LA QUINTA, Calif. -
The pros will tee off in the Humana Challenge Golf Tournament starting Monday, you can get free tickets if you're willing to roll up your sleeves.

The Desert Blood Services is teaming up with the Humana Challenge to provide two free tournament tickets to each person who donates blood this week and next.

The tickets are valued at $80 and are good for any day of the tournament, which runs Jan. 13-19 in La Quinta.

The blood bank, located at 79215 Corporate Centre Dr. in La Quinta, said it takes 80 to 100 donors a day to provide enough blood to our local hospitals.

However, only 5 percent of the Coachella Valley donates, and close to 30 percent are eligible.

"It's very easy. It's just an hour of your time. That feeling you get when you know you helped someone save a life, it's hard to describe," Desert Blood Services Director Nicu Cocione.

For more information on how to donate, visit or call 760-777-8844.
