PALM SPRINGS & RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - The holiday season was in full swing Thursday in two Coachella Valley cities.
A Christmas tree lighting brought dozens of families to Francis Stevens Park in Palm Springs and ice skating spectacular brought people to the River in Rancho Mirage.Fifteen world-class an ice skaters delighting folks with a free holiday show.
Just a few feet away, Heidi McArthur was getting ready for the grand opening of her store Jadabug’s later this month. This is her second location; the first is in La Quinta.
"It’s double the size of our current location so we can expand and have community events here like mom groups," McArthur said.McArthur knows it can be tough for stores to stay afloat at the River. There a few empty locations right in front of the ice rink, but with events like the ice spectacular McArthur is thinks this is good fit for her business.
"We have storefronts on both sides so people can see us coming from the skating rink or coming from the movies or going to Cheesecake Factory," McArthur said.
