CHP to simulate DUI accident at high school
The California Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies will simulate an alcohol-related crash tomorrow, and again on Thursday, at Moreno Valley High School.
The simulations are part of the CHP's "Every 15 Minutes" program, which is designed to show teenagers the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and other controlled substances.
The name comes from the fact that every 15 minutes, someone in the United States dies from an alcohol-related crash, CHP officer Steve Carapia said.
The reenactment will include a 911 call broadcast over the public address system and responses by the Moreno Valley police and fire departments, CHP and other emergency agencies, Carapia said.
