Chinese President Xi Jinping is officially in the Coachella Valley. His motorcade arrived at the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Earlier, Xi arrived at the Ontario International Airport, where Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villariagosa is welcoming him.
The eastbound Interstate 10 was shut down in stages, starting at Ontario Airport, to accommodate Xi's motorcade as he travels to Rancho Mirage. The motorcade exited Interstate 10 at Cook St, then traveled south before making a left at Highway 111, which led them straight the entrance of the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells.
Air transportation for the President, Premier or government officials of the People's Republic of China is managed and operated by the 34th division of People's Liberation Army Air Force. Boeing 737s are used.
