Eastbound traffic on I-10 near the Date Palm Drive exit was slow-moving after a car became fully engulfed in flames Monday afternoon.
The incident happened shortly before 2 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the #3 and #4 lanes were temporarily closed while emergency crews extinguished the fire and cleared the car from the interstate.
