COACHELLA VALLEY - Coachella Weekend 2 is almost in the books and Downtown Palm Springs is buzzing with tourists, but for many restaurants, like Trio or Jakes, it's before and after a festival weekend when they see an influx in customers.
"They don't just come in on Friday night. They come in Tuesday and Wednesday to relax a little bit before getting out to the big parties and excitement," said Jake's owner, Bruce Bloc.
And down the street at Trio, employees say their busiest day is Monday.
"It's the day when everyone's leaving. A lot of people stop by to have breakfast or late lunch before they hit the road, because as we all know traffic is going to be crazy," said Trio manager, Viktorya Crittenten
Many concertgoers are extending their stay to avoid the expected heavy traffic.
"I'm pretty sure tomorrow the traffic is going to be horrible, so it's a good thing we're leaving Tuesday. I just want to be out here, dining and stuff, you know, see the view," Daniel Cruz from Houston, Texas said.
Festival season isn't over yet, restaurant owners are already gearing up for the Stagecoach crowd, which is expected to be in this week.
