Budweiser Clydesdales in Palm Desert today
A traveling team of Budweiser Clydesdales will parade down El Paseo today before heading to Indio for the Stagecoach country music festival.
The world-famous horses, which stand six feet at the shoulder and weigh an average of 2,000 pounds apiece, are scheduled to be at the Palm Desert shopping district from 2 to 4 p.m., event spokesman Clay Seddon said.
There are six "hitches" or teams of Budweiser Clydesdales -- five of which travel around the country and one which remains at the Anheuser-Busch brewery complex in St. Louis, Mo. Eight horses are driven at one time, but there are 10 horses on each team for rotation and rest purposes.
The horses will be at Stagecoach through Sunday, according to Budweiser's website.
