Boy rescued after becoming separated from family
A 13-year-old boy was separated from his family during a hike up San Jacinto Peak and was later found, a state park ranger said Sunday.
Park officials were alerted at 6 p.m. Saturday about the boy when his family reported him missing. He was found about an hour later in good health by a park aide, Mount San Jacinto State Park Ranger Aaron Gray said.
The boy got separated while hiking along the four-mile Round Valley Loop trail to the 10,834-foot-high summit, according to reports.
